I’m not quite sure about this one. I say this as never in my Gucci dreams did I expect Gucci to partner up with The Northface. It’s like marmite, you either love it or you hate it.
On one hand we are finally seeing luxury and high-street finally coming together in the most Gen-Z way possible, which means that luxury does not always have to be linked to the ‘fine-dining in Mayfair’ lifestyle. We can, dare I say it, finally make luxury casual now. Maybe for the 1% luxury can be casual. I guess for a luxury designer to pick a high-street, casual, sport inspired brand, Northface is probably the best outcome. Northface is known for its’ all purpose, actually useful items, that you can respectfully wear it either in Shoreditch or, hiking in Snowdonia if you really want to, whilst also popping into the corner shop or union bar next to your campus. Gucci on the other hand, is the trend of all luxury trends, the definition of luxury and will always be an instagramable must-have.
So I guess, what am trying to say is, bravo!
Here are some of our favourite pieces from the Gucci x Northface Collection.
